特等奖学生作文:

Measures to Protect China's Food Security

Recently, there remain concerns about food security in our country. Reports have often been seen in the newspapers, lacing with food security such as Sanlu milk powder incident and gutter oil incident, which has put citizens' reliance on food security to the test again and again. Fortunately, food security has been seriously taken by officials, and equally attached great significance to No. 1 Central Document for the last 11 years.

It looks beyond dispute that China's food security keeps extremely vital. Firstly, food security is a major issue concerning people's livelihood. Security stays the minimum requirement of food consumption, and also the maximum. It is related to people's health and even life so that everyone needs safe food. As the saying goes, food is the first necessity of the people, demonstrating how important it is for us the food!

Secondly, unsafe food can easily lead to food-borne diseases. According to a study of 2011, 14 million people in China suffer from bacterial food-borne illnesses each year, with about 3.4 million hospitalized and more than 1,500 killed, which has already stood a serious public health problem. Do you preserve those events in mind? Packages of imported food including whey powder, cherries and frozen chicken wings and other cold-chain products were tested to be positive for the novel coronavirus, COVID-11. With all these facts, isn't China's food security essential?

Thereby, it is high time that we did to protect China's food security. For government, officials should focus their efforts on imposing more severe penalties on counterfeiting enterprises and implementing tax cuts for some enterprises to support the improvement of their technology and equipment. Similarly, officials had better establish and improve the communication mechanism between consumers and enterprises, and increase the transparency of government supervision and public participation. Additionally, officials are supposed to strengthen the training of food sanitary supervision talents, who can specialize in food security scientific and technological field and technical reserves, so as to accelerate the transfer of technical achievements in food security assessment to enterprises. For enterprises, managers must ensure food security, which signifies everyone that is involved in all stages of the process, from production to retail, must render certain compliance with food security safeguards. What's more indispensably is that enterprises should be transparent to consumers about the full details of their food. In this IT era, it would be better that services platforms can take such similar actions like Koubei, a local services platform owned by Alibaba Group, giving No Gutter Oil labels to restaurants that promise not to use gutter oil and recommending them before their unlabeled rivals. For our common dwellers, consumers, we ought to consciously put an end to Three Without products, which refers to products without a name, address production and sanitation license code. Nevertheless, we will fail to do that if we can not obtain timely access to clear and reliable information upon the nutrition and disease risks associated with our food. While everyone has chosen to do their part, surely we can protect China's food security.

Generally speaking, the issue of China's food security can not be ignored. It is not only relevant to our daily healthy diet, but also a threat to our lives. Therefore, only when we work for that with our joint and unremitting efforts and take adequate measures can we protect China's food security and contribute to the sustainable development of China's food system.
