Research Base of Digital Development and Management Innovation for Service Industry in Guangdong inaugurates with academic conference
On November 21, an important event was held at International Conference Hall to celebrate the inauguration of the Research Base of Digital Development and Management Innovation for Service Industry in Guangdong(the Base). Experts and scholars in the field of digital development and management innovation for service industry, representatives of enterprises, heads of SCBC’s Office of Academic Research Affairs, School of Economics, School of Computer Science and Technology, Institute of Digital Science and Technology and all teachers of School of Management attended the occasion. Executive President Wang Hua, Supervisor Gu Yeli, and Vice President Zhao Fuchun also joined the event.
The event consisted of two parts. The first was an inauguration ceremony, which was hosted by Wu Xinling, director of Office of Academic Research Affairs. According to her introduction, Research Base of Digital Development and Management Innovation for Service Industry in Guangdong was approved as a key research base of humanities and social sciences for Colleges and Universities in Guangdong in September this year; in October, SCBC held a meeting to review research proposals submitted to the Base; based on the joint decision by SCBC’s leadership, Executive President Wang Hua was appointed director of the Base, Prof. Su Wujun, disciplinary leader of Management at the School of Management, and Prof. Wen Youyun, deputy dean of the School of Management, deputy director of the Base.
At the ceremony, Wang Hua delivered a speech on behalf of the Base. He said that as the development of digitization was made a major national strategy, the Base should carry out research work in a practical, planned and step-by-step manner, so that it could seize the opportunity to help promote the digitization of service industry in the Greater Bay Area and even the whole country, making its due contribution by producing more results in its research and practice.
The second part of the event was an academic conference, which was chaired by Prof. Su Wujun. Prof. Xie Zhihua of Beijing Technology and Business University, Prof. Chen Hu, president of ZTE Cloud, and Prof. Wang Xianqing of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics delivered their keynote speeches respectively.
At the end of the Conference, Wang Hua gave a concluding remark. He believed that the academic conference had not only provided a great platform for participants to exchange ideas and come up with new insights, but also helped SCBC’s teachers improve their understanding of the discipline and their interdisciplinary knowledge. In the future, the Base will step up its efforts to achieve its mission of serving the development of regional economy, including hold academic activities on a regular basis, carrying out solid academic research, and cultivating more talent in the discipline.
