SCBC signs cooperation agreement with Mianyang Teachers’ College
On the afternoon of September 4, a signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement between Mianyang Teachers’ College and South China Business College was held at the International Conference Hall in the presence of heads of relevant departments and schools from both sides, including Wang Binhai and Huang Yongzhong, who are respectively secretary and deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of Mianyang Teachers’ College, and Executive President Wang Hua, Vice President Wang Mingyu, Vice President Lai Zhili, and Deputy Secretary of the CPC committee Fu Hongxin from SCBC. The ceremony was presided by Vice President Lai Zhili.
Executive President Wang Hua delivered a speech in which he, on behalf of the school, expressed a warm welcome to the guests from Mianyang Teachers’ College. He said he admired Mianyang Teachers’ College for its hopper of achievements in its long history of more than 80 years, especially in the programs that aim at training teachers and researchers in education studies. Moreover, Wang Hua introduced to the guests the history of SCBC, its academic structure, majors and disciplinary development, scientific research platforms, and its advantages and characteristics. With the signing of the Framework Agreement on Cooperation and Development and the Memorandum of Cooperation on Collaborative Training of Exchange Students, Wang Hua believed that the two sides would work together to play on each other’s strength and strong suits. In the future, the two higher institutions will actively explore new ways of reform for training versatile and application-oriented undergraduates, and jointly build a model of education cooperation characterized by open courses, cross-regional access, and win-win outcomes. With that, the two sides can make their due contribution to the innovation and development of higher education in China.
Huang Yongzhong expressed his gratitude to SCBC for the warm reception. He introduced Mianyang Teachers’ College, offering details about its history, disciplines, faculty, orientation, development of programs and scientific research, etc.. He said that the two schools are located respectively in Guangdong and Sichuan, each with its own unique characteristics in terms of campus culture and disciplinary structure, which, he believed, provides good conditions for both sides to complement each other. The upcoming cross-regional and cross-disciplinary cooperation is a meaningful attempt that will enhance each other’s educational resources, promote cultural exchanges, facilitate common progress and create mutual benefits.
Witnessed by everyone present at the ceremony, Huang Yongzhong and Wang Mingyu signed the Framework Agreement on Cooperation and Development and the Memorandum of Cooperation on Collaborative Training of Exchange Students.
It is reported that the Framework Agreement on Cooperation and Development is structured with five major aspects, including collaborative training of students, exchange of teachers, development of disciplines and programs, cooperation in scientific research projects, and sharing of advantageous resources, etc.. The purpose is to promote the complementary and in-depth cooperation and the overall improvement of the quality of education. The Memorandum of Cooperation on Collaborative Training of Exchange Students, which focuses on collaborative training of students, is an important initiative to facilitate cooperation between the teacher education and education studies programs of Mianyang Teachers’ College and the foreign language programs of SCBC, as well as an effort to explore new ways of developing training models that turn out versatile and application-oriented undergraduates.
