SCBC students claim multiple prizes at the 4th “Harbin Russian Spring” China-Russia Collegiate Russian Language Contest
Students from the School of European Languages and Cultures claimed multiple prizes at the 4th “Harbin Russian Spring” China-Russia Collegiate Russian Language Contest on June 23. Wu Haotian, sophomore of Russian language, won a first prize for Russian poem recitation, and junior students Luo Yuming, Cai Jiaxin, Deng Jinwen, and Liang Boying as a team received a second prize for Russian song singing and a third prize for Russian drama performance.
The contest was a high-level international Russian language event jointly organized by China and Russia, with 240 contestants from 48 higher institutions competing via online submission in four categories of Russian recitation, Russian song, Russian drama and Russian dance. The aim of the contest was multi-fold: to strengthen cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries, to consolidate and strengthen communication and interaction between Russian and Chinese universities, to promote the development of Russian language teaching, to stimulate students' interest in learning Russian, and to encourage innovative training.
The SCBC students were highly praised by the Chinese and foreign experts for their beautiful Russian pronunciation, superb stage performance, emotional recitation and excellent singing skills. After a fierce competition, all the three works submitted by the Department of Russian Language, “Seagulls”, “Horses” and “Happy Love”, stood out and won awards. Wu Haotian’s emotional and accurate recitation of the Russian poem “Seagulls” got him a first prize. The Russian song “Horse” sung by Luo Yuming, Cai Jiaxin, Liang Boying and Deng Jinwen as a team received a second prize for the moving melody and their beautiful singing voice; the team also won a third prize for their performance of the Russian drama “Happy Love”.
