The final of the International Trade, Economics and Exhibition Competition of the 11th China University Business Challenge is the 46the on the list of 2020 National University Student Competitions. The scenario for finalist teams was set to join the “China (Ningbo) Transnational Sourcing Fair 2021” as exhibitors or sponsors and present their cases in five sections: Exhibition Plan (in Chinese), Booth Poster Design and Merchandising, New Product Launch (in English or other foreign languages), Securing Clients and Business Negotiation (in English or or other foreign languages), and Summary Report (in Chinese). A total of 210 teams from 116 institutions of higher education in 21 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions were competing for the final laureates in the national final.
Two teams with a total of 15 members from SCBC were shortlisted for the national final. It took them half a year to get there, during which they had undertaken a series of challenges, from the preliminary campus qualification to securing sponsors, writing business plans, breaking through from the provincial competition and then preparing for the national final. Before their final game against competitors from other colleges and universities across the country, they had to design English posters and brochures, produce English contracts and quotations, design and decorate booths, make plans for new product launches and trade negotiations (in English). The honors they had won for the college should be attributed to their solid knowledge of international trade practices, good business communication skills, excellent spoken English and teamwork spirit.
