Chairman of SCBC Ding Xiaojun Heads a Delegation to Celaya University in Mexico
Recently Chairman of SCBC Ding Xiaojun had headed a delegation to visit Celaya University in Mexico. The group was welcome by Dr. Martha Aguilar Trejo, rector of Celaya, and Dr.Moises Mendoza.
The two sides held friendly discussions and reached agreement on many issues, such as cooperation in cultivating students, student exchange programs, visiting scholar projects, pedagogical and research partnership, innovative training, and the promotion of Chinese and Spanish languages and cultures worldwide.
In the meeting, Dr. Martha Aguilar Trejo briefed the delegation on Celaya University in terms of its history, undergraduate programs, characteristics, and international exchanges and cooperation. She hoped that Celaya and SCBC should complement each other and explore new areas of cooperation on the basis of the current partnership. Celaya University would spare no effort to build a better platform to promote communication between Chinese and Mexican students and facilitate further cooperation between the two institutions.
According to Mr.Ding Xiaojun, SCBC has partnered with Celaya University for several years. SCBC has sent 27 students to study at Celaya and received 17 exchange students from Celaya. Mr.Ding said that grounded firmly on widely-shared interests, the bilateral relationship between China and Mexico was deemed to have a bright and promising future; SCBC was sure to pursue stronger partnership with its Mexican counterpart so as to contribute to the development of higher education in two countries as well as to help open a new chapter of friendly communication between the two peoples.
It is reported that SCBC has established partnership with Celaya University since September, 2013 when exchange programs for teachers and students began. In March, 2014, three students and one professor from Celaya were sent to SCBC to study for one semester and lecture for month respectively. In recent years, the exchanges between the two institutions have been strengthened, with SCBC’s Spanish language teacher visiting Celaya and professors at Celaya offering long-distance on-line lectures and tutorials for SCBC students of Spanish language or coming to give a series of lectures at SCBC.
During the visit, Mr.Ding Xiaojun and the delegation went to meet Wu Shaobin and Zhao Gongxun, two alumni who graduated in 2006 of International Logistics and came to start their own businesses in Mexico. The group also called on SCBC’s 16 exchange students at Celaya.
