Star Coffee: Life Tastes Better When You Slow it Down

 
  What impresses you most in your first encounter with Star Coffee? The spacious, well-lit interiors, the soft, comfortable sofas, the cups of hot coffee that warms you up for fresh work, or the cold soda water that takes away the summer heat? Step into the place, and you’ll find in every piece of decor a sense of appreciation for the artistic and the humanistic.   On June 15, Star Coffee (Nanguo) made its debut at F201. Lured by the permeating aroma, many professors and students came to have a taste of the ease and satisfaction more available in a low-paced life.
 
 
North & South Noodle House at SCBC: A Grand Opening
 
  On the morning of June 9, the grand opening of the North & South Noodle House (Nanguo) was held at the Cultural Plaza of South China Business College in the presence of Chairman of the Board of Directors Ding Xiaojun, Secretary of the SCBC Party Committee and Vice President Li Dong, Executive Vice President Lai Zhili, Vice President He Yibing, Vice President Yang Yongqiang, Vice President Xiong Kuanghan, Deputy Secretary of the SCBC Party Committee Fu Hongxin, and General Manager Zhao Aidang and Deputy General Manager Gan Jingjie of Guangzhou Cong Yipin Catering Co., Ltd.
 
 
  Deputy General Manager Gan Jingjie said in his speech that the North & South Noodle House intends to integrate different dietary flavors in the north and south of China with a focus on Cantonese-style noodles, Guangxi rice noodles, and Chongqing noodles, and dedication to ensure “first-class taste, environment, and services” for customers. The restaurant, with delicious food, comfortable environment and best services, will be a good dining option for teachers and students at SCBC. According to Mr. Gan, Cong Yipin Catering is committed to creating customer-oriented and high quality culinary brands through a diversified service model that integrates modern catering management and advanced business philosophy. The company will never stop at Chinese culinary creations, aspiring to move its business across China and the world.
 
 
  General manager Zhao Aidan expressed his warm congratulations on the opening of the North & South Noodle House, saying that an establishment of American architectural style like the North & South Noodle House will make a high-quality, high-level dining environment. As the restaurant uses green produce and materials only, customers can rest assured that the food is healthy and safe. He said that to provide quality services to teachers and students, the North & South Noodle House will adhere to the principle of “high standards and requirements, great quality, and best services”, also as part of its effort of building the brand of “Cong Yipin” into a leading enterprise of its kind renowned at home and abroad.  
 
 
  At the opening ceremony, Executive Vice President Lai Zhili gave an interesting interpretation of the “Cong Yipin” brand. He said that Chinese characters of the brand “从一品” can be broken down and understood as “everyone takes a bite, and one more bite”, and we always want one more bite of health food. Mr. Lai pointed out that the North & South Noodle House is not just another dining option for teachers and students; it has also accommodated the disciplinary upgrading of the college because it will provide a practical platform for students of tourism, hotel management and other related new majors, laying a good foundation for promoting collaborations between universities and enterprises. “The ‘North & South’ can mean southern and northern China, or even the southern and northern hemispheres.” He hoped that Cong Yipin Catering will not only bring together the southern and northern culinary delights to the teachers and students of South China Business College, but also thrive in Guangdong and prosper throughout China and go global.
 
  There were firecrackers going off and lion dancing to celebrate the opening.Then the present guests cut the ribbon to mark the beginning of business for the North & South Noodle House at South China Business College.
