Dragon Boat Racing to Celebrate the Duanwu Festival
Dragon boat races are traditionally held as part of the annual Duanwu Festival (the fifth day of the fifth lunar month)observance in China. South China Business College has also followed this custom since eight years ago. Unfortunately there were heavy rainfalls on the day of the final game. However, the crews of dragon boats, whose excitement for the sport seemed not dampened at all by the bad weather, were ready at the starting point. As the contending teams paddled in synchronization to the drum beats in the roaring cheers of enthusiastic fans and spectators, the racing boats were like flying dragons, sprinting against the slashing rains towards the finishing line. What a rumbustious celebration!
