Hugo López from the Public University of Navarra Visits SCBC
On the morning of March 12, Hugo López, vice-rector for Internationalization at the Public University of Navarra in Spain, led a delegation to visit South China Business College and was received by Executive Vice President Lai Zhili at the Honorable Guests Hall of the Administrative Building.
Mr. Lai Zhili said that a good partnership had been kept between the two higher institutions and under the principles of people-oriented education and internationalization, significant progress had been made in quite a few aspects, including student training and cultural exchanges. The exchange students sent by SCBC spoke highly of the Public University of Navarra. He hoped that there would be further cooperation in more areas.
Mr. López expressed his confidence in future cooperation, saying that SCBC would be his first choice if the University was to increase cooperation in China. He wanted to strengthen the partnership, and hoped to identify new areas to work together in this trip to SCBC.
The two sides discussed and exchanged ideas on the current and the possible future frameworks of cooperation, such as teacher exchanges, “2+2” programs, integrated undergraduate-graduate programs, etc..
South China Business College signed a framework of agreement and a memorandum of cooperation with the Public University of Navarra in June, 2013. In September of the same year, SCBC sent the first group of exchange students to the Public University of Navarra. Exchange students from the Public University of Navarra began arriving at SCBC in 2015.
SCBC Teachers Invited to the 6th Edinumen Teacher Training Session in Hong Kong
He Yan and Sara Lara Martinez, teachers from the School of European Languages and Culture of South China Business College, were invited to speak on Spanish language teaching at the 6th Edinumen Teacher Training Session in Hong Kong held on March 9 and 10.
During the training, He Yan and Sara Lara Martinez hosted a workshop session on “The Teaching of Polysemy in Spanish Class” and had interaction and discussion with all the participants who afterwards spoke highly of the session for its innovation and practical value.
The two teachers said that the Training Session had benefited them a lot by offering them the opportunity to get acquainted with Spanish teachers worldwide and share their findings and expertise from their work and research. They also gained some experience in cooperation with teachers from overseas higher institutions in teaching Spanish language and research .
The Training Session was organized by the publishers Edinumen in Spain and the University of Hong Kong, and collaborated by Beijing Cervantes Institute, Rioja University, Alicante University, University of Castilla and Toledo Spanish Center. It is said to be the largest and most influential of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region.
2018 Spring Reception Party Held for SCBC Alumni in Yangjiang City
Organized by the SCBC General Alumni Association and sponsored by SCBC Yangjiang Alumni Association, the 2018 Spring Reception Party was held at Guangdong (Yangjiang) YANGFAN Food Production Co., Ltd., one of the SCBC alumni enterprises in Yangjiang City. Representatives from SCBC alumni associations of Yangjiang, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan, Shantou, Zhongshan, and the SCBC Alumni Union for Entrepreneurs came together to review their work in the past year. Also present at the Reception Party were Ding Xiaojun, chairman of SCBC and honorary president of SCBC General Alumni Association, Lai Zhili, executive vice president of SCBC and executive vice president of SCBC General Alumni Association , and Fu Hongxin, deputy secretary of SCBC’s CPC Committee and general secretary of SCBC General Alumni Association.
