SCBC’s First INNOVATION Classes Kick Off
Under the principle of student-oriented and individualized education, SCBC has decided to set up INNOVATION classes of “College English” and “English as A Second Foreign Language” open to students of non-English majors, also as part of the effort to showcase and consolidate SCBC’s strength in foreign language teaching. The first recruitment has been completed and 37 outstanding students have been accepted to the classes.
A special ceremony was held on the afternoon of March 1 at Academic Conference Hall C201 to celebrate the occasion. SCBC’s management, Party officials, heads of various schools and departments, and all 37 students were present in the ceremony.
It is reported that the decision to set up INNOVATION classes is based on the fact that SCBC attracts many high school graduates who have a good command of English and who are willing to continue honing their English skills. Therefore, SCBC provides them with the opportunity to take individualized English courses. The purpose is to strengthen students’ linguistic foundations and improve their comprehensive foreign language competence. It is expected that the recruited students, after intensive training and learning, would stand a chance of winning good prizes in English language competitions and stand out as a “name-card” of SCBC’s advantages in foreign language teaching.
