Former PM of the Republic of Tunisia Hamadi Jebali Visits SCBC
Mr.Hamadi Jebali, former prime minister of the Republic of Tunisia, and the accompanying delegation paid a visit to South China Business College on November 28. Chairman of SCBC Ding Xiaojun, Executive Vice President Lai Zhili and Vice President Wang Xinjie respectively met with the guests.
Mr. Ding expressed his cordial welcome to the former prime minister in their conversation at his office. As SCBC had always attached great importance to establishing cooperation with Tunisia and other African nations, Mr.Ding proposed that the partnership should go further and move beyond exchanges and cooperation in French and Arabic language teaching and research to more areas including education, culture and humanities. Mr.Hamadi Jebali agreed and said he would be happy to see Mr. Ding and SCBC students visiting and studying in Tunisia as the ties between Tunisia and China were close. The two sides had reached a preliminary agreement on such issues as student exchanges, economic and trade cooperation, setting up Confucius Institutes in Tunisia and so on.
After the conversation, Mr.Hamadi Jebali and the accompanying delegation joint a small seminar at the Guest Hall with SCBC leadership as well as teachers and students of French. Standing before the map of Tunisia, Mr. Hamadi Jebali introduced to the audience the geography and development as well as the long history and glorious culture of his country.Then he conversed with the students in French and answered their questions.
A luncheon was also held at SCBC in honour of the former prime minister.
