SCBC Inviting University Presidents in China and from Overseas to “Initiate a Forum” on Training Undergraduate Students with Transferable Skills

On Nov. 25th, a forum was successfully held at SCBC for university presidents in China and from overseas on “Training Undergraduate Students with Transferable skills in International Vision.” Presidents from 22 universities gathered in Guangzhou from countries like Egypt, Germany, Japan, Korea and Mexico and other regions of China like Taiwan as well as those within Guangdong Province. Strategies were jointly studied on how to train undergraduate students with transferable skills around such topics as ideas, modes, methods, and characteristics in aspects like international exchange and co-operation as well as co-ordination from governments, enterprises, schools and research institutions by those presidents with their own school-running ideas and talent-training experience.

Simultaneous interpretation was applied to the forum in five languages like Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Korean and English. By taking advantage of our strength in foreign languages, we decided to send a contingent of young and middle aged professional elite to handle simultaneous interpretation. As a result, their performance was unanimously complimented, which has once again showcased our professional strength in foreign languages.
