Tea Fragrance Touches Deep in Heart, Tea Spirit Perceived by Foreign Students

On the afternoon of May 11, 22 SCBC foreign students had a field trip to the tea plantation of the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Science, guided by Xianghong Yin, a teacher of the Center for International Cooperation and Exchange. Mr. Lai of the Academy gave the foreign students a lecture, elaborating the process of tea-picking, tea-producing and tea-savoring.

Under the guidance of teachers, the students went on their hands-on experience. First, they were carefully selecting and picking green bud tea leaves. Then, the students came to the tea processing workshop and, under the guidance of Mr. Lai, started wearing gloves, stirring tea leaves in the electric frying pans and producing dried leaves. Soon, from the heated frying pan, the scent of tea was richly pervading the workshop.

In the bus returning to school, two Korean students told the reporter that they had really benefited a lot from this field trip in understanding the difficulties of tea processing, in tasting in person the aroma of new tea leaves and in vivid learning the history of Chinese tea culture as well.
