SCBC Overseas Student in Japan Wins 200,000 Yen Scholarship
The College of Eastern Languages and Cultures of SCBC has recently received a Message of Congratulations from the Yokohama College of Commerce of Japan which says that Qianting Huang, a language major of Japanese Class 2 of 2012 enrollment, was awarded the title of the "Excellent Honor-roll Student of Alumni Association" with a 200,000 yen scholarship (over 11,000 Chinese Yuan) for her excellent achievement and outstanding performance during her study in the “2 + 2” double degree program. She was highly praised with applauses by faculty and students of the whole school when the college president announced her name at the school opening ceremony.
It is known that the college's two academic award systems are respectively named the "Excellent Honor-roll Student" with tuition waiver and the "Excellent Honor-roll Student of Alumni Association" with a 200,000 yen scholarship. The "Excellent Honor-roll Student of Alumni Association" scholarship is a reward for good academic performance of current students, including overseas students. This year, Qianting Huang and another Japanese student won the honor.
SCBC Will Usher in Her 20th Anniversary
November 26 of 2016, SCBC will usher in her 20th anniversary.
The celebration of the 20th anniversary, in the principle of being "grand but thrift", will hold a series of events, including the "College Achievement Exhibition", “The 2nd Campaign of Selecting the Most Virtuous Figures of SCBC", “The Anniversary Competition of Photography, Calligraphy and Painting", “The China and Foreign Presidents' Forum" and other student events, such as the Performance Art Gala and celebration assemblies. The college will also edit her history memoirs, publish a special issue on the outstanding alumni achievement, and shoot an SCBC Anniversary Promo Video.
