Lai Zhili made a welcome speech. In his speech, he said that SCBC has started partnership with Navarra University and the cooperation has made good progress. He hoped to initiate cooperation on this basis with other members of EAUs. Lai Zhili then introduced the basic situation of SCBC and its feature of education that emphasizes "foreign language strength". Spanish language, as one of the most outstanding foreign language specialties, enrolls about 100 students each year with the highest entrance scores of all academic majors. SCBC has also established school cooperative relations with the countries such as Spain, Mexico. Lai Zhili further expressed the intention to establish relationship of exchange studies and cooperation with EAUs.
Oscar Lopez introduced the profile of EAUs, including the geographical location, teachers and students, the school of resources and the development of the strategic objectives. He said the visit was to open more innovative and more favorable cooperation. "Asia is one of the chains of EAUs' goals of international cooperation, while China is the strategic locus to reach these important goals." Oscar Lopez hoped that EAUs and SCBC would develop further cooperation in the aspects of exchanging teachers and students as well as in education and scientific research.
Lai Zhili proposed that the cooperation between SCBC and EAUs should not be limited to Spanish majors, but also provide non-Spanish majors with opportunities to study in Spain. At the same time he expected SCBC and EAUS carry out teacher exchanges and joint master, doctoral degree programs, etc. Lopez Oscar believed that the visit to SCBC was pragmatic, hoping to seize the opportunity to realize a more comprehensive, more substantive cooperation.
In the end of the meeting, the two sides exchanged gifts and posed for pictures.
