Pushkin University Choir experienced Chinese Culture
After the Sino-Russian Friendship Party, the Choir of Russian National Pushkin University at Leningrad went on for a one-week cultural exchange program between May 15 and 19 by visiting many famous tourist attractions to experience Chinese culture as well as the unique charm of the city of Guangzhou.
SCBC to Enroll 2400 students from the 2015 College Entrance Examination
Recently, the Ministry of Education has issued the SCBC ordinary undergraduate college entrance examination enrollment plan. SCBC enrollment will be 2400 students, among which 150 will be out-of-province students. The enrollment will be from16 provinces, including Guangdong, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Hainan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi.
SCBC has a total of 26 specialties, 10 of them are foreign language majors such as English, Business English, Translation, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, German, Russian, French, Spanish. This year SCBC will offer such three new specialties as Digital Media Technology, Investment Studies and Economics.
Charm of Pétanque: A Field Class Instructed by Foreign Teacher
Students appreciated the charm of Pétanque at the English Time and Space in the college's sports field on May 19. The activity, held by the Department of College English, was led and instructed by Benjamin, a foreign teacher.
Pétanque is a form of ball games where the goal is to throw hollow metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball while standing inside a circle with both feet on the ground. It is quite popular and even a type of national sports in France for people, old and young, male and female, in back streets or on expensive lawns. As is a non-aggressive sport, people can dress beautifully in the informal competition, play the game while drinking and chatting with friends, it is typically a form of most elegant and popular leisure sports.
After introducing rules of the game, Benjamin led students to experience Pétanque and students enjoyed the game immensely while chatting in English.
