 "2+2" Program Discussed Between SCBC and Northwood University
 
  SCBC and Northwood University (NU), USA start the discussion of the "2+2" Program of mutual recognition of credits. Austin Malloy, a representative of NU, visited SCBC on March 19, and vice president Lai Zhili received visitors in Room 304 of the administration building.
 
 

 
  Mr. Malloy introduced that NU is a private university of commerce that offers 22 academic programs for 7000 students at present. NU has three campuses with the main campus located in the State of Michigan and it opens such programs as Accounting, Financial Management, Marketing, etc., which seamlessly match the curricula of SCBC. In addition, NU is well known for its featured programs of Leisure Sports Management, Automobile Brand Marketing and Chain Store Operation and Management.
 
  Lai Zhili hopes the two sides can reach consensus to the cooperation in order to provide more students with the opportunities of overseas learning exchange.
 
 
Sydney University of Technology Plans Joint Leadership Program with SCBC
 
  Sydney University of Technology (SUT) of Australia plans with SCBC to jointly launch the Leadership Program, according to Vice President Lai Zhili, who received Innes Irland, the representative of SUT and the visiting delegation on the afternoon of March 19.
 
 
  The Leadership Program intends to enhance students' leadership skills through their participation in short-term training, seminars and practical activities.
 
  Lai Zhili said, SCBC is located in the airport economic zone and has jointly set up the Center for SCBC-Airport Economic Synergy Innovation in collaboration with such five parties as SCBC, the Guangzhou Social Science Association, Baiyun International Logistics, Yi Tong Business Aviation Co. Ltd and South Korea Hoseo University. Lai Zhili proposed opening new financial specialties innovatively through cooperation between SCBC and SUT in order to train the practical talents for the future economic development. Mr Ireland then expressed his consent.
 
 
SCBC Ranked Six Places Higher Than Last Year By
2015 Wu Shulian China Independent College Rankings
 
  SCBC Ranks 39th of all 322 Chinese independent colleges according to the newly released "2015 China Independent College Rankings" by Wu Shulian of China Management Science Research Institute -- six places more advanced than last year. The teachers' innovative ability ranks 26th in the country which is the fourth in Guangdong province.
 
 
SCBC Faculty Member Lectures at Latvia University for Academic Exchange
 
  Ren Ding, an SCBC faculty member of the School of International Economics and Finance, will leave for Riga, Latvia to teach at Latvia University for an academic exchange for three months, which is part of the Mary Curie International Research Scientist Exchange Study Project (Mary Curie IRSES Project). Mr. Ren will teach at the university an undergraduate course "Fundamentals of Finance" for the international students and a postgraduate course "Psychology and Behavior of International Business Customers".
 
 
 
Three New Undergraduate Specialties Added at SCBC
 
  Three new undergraduate specialties -- Digital media technology, Investment Studies, and Economics -- have recently been approved for SCBC by the Ministry of Education, according to its "Announcement of the release of the results of filing and approving the undergraduate specialties in 2014".
 
  Up to now, SCBC opens 26 undergraduate specialties within four disciplines. Among them there are four provincial comprehensive reform pilot specialties, one provincial strategic emerging-industry-featured specialty, which have formed a featured pattern that is well-structured and multidisciplinary.
 
  It is reported the new undergraduate majors will start to enroll students this coming academic year.
