SCBC students won the 1st prize in POCIB
SCBC Students from School of International Economics and Finance won a 1st group prize in the 4th “Practice for Operational Competence in International Business” (POCIB). 12 students were awarded the 1st, 2nd and 3rd individual prizes respectively and their instructors Xu Jianshang and Xia Haixia won a 1st prize.
The 4th POCIB competition lasted for 20 days with competitors operating on a platform of special computer system for foreign trade businesses. 20 senior and junior students of the International Economics and Trade major represented SCBC to compete this year, each of whom successfully completed 20 international trade transactions.
It is reported that POCIB is hosted by CAIT, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, and National Supervision Board for vocational education, co-organized by Journal of International Trade and China Association of International Trade Practice. More than 110 teams and 2200 competitors from colleges and universities all over the country took part in the 4th POCIB dated from November 12.
Office of Academic Affairs Launched Demonstration Class Series of Bilingual Courses
On December 18th, the Office of Academic Affairs demonstrated a class of bilingual course in Room G105. This demonstration class, with rich teaching contents and a lively classroom atmosphere, greatly activated students’ attention and involvement, and consequently received appreciation from students, other teachers and experts present. Professor Zhou Wengui, a member of Bilingual Teaching Panel, commented that during the class, Teacher Yin Li focused on cultivating students’ confidence and initiative in learning, embodying the idea of people-oriented and students-centered education. In the end, Prof. Zhou concluded that SCBC would keep on delivering the demonstration classes of Bilingual Courses.

Ushering in the New Year—Accomplished Staff, Wonderful Show
On December 25th, the New Year Gala Evening was held in the Business Street Square. It constituted two parts: talent show and lucky draw. From singing to dancing, the variety of performances provided the audience with an audio and visual feast.
