Simultaneous Interpretation Practice of three Languages in School of Asian Languages and Cultures
Recently, practical Simultaneous Interpretation (SI) sessions between Chinese and such three languages as Arabic, Japanese and Korean were respectively held in SI Audio Lab 501 by the School of Asian Languages and Cultures. On the site, student groups practiced simultaneous interpretation while teachers were discussing in one of the three foreign languages at a seminar on the theme of Cultivating SCBS Students’ comprehensive quality. Executive Vice President Yuan Changqing and Vice President Lai Zhili observed the practice.
These SI practice sessions have reportedly been the largest drills in terms of scale ever since simultaneous interpretation started in School of Asian Languages and Cultures. Applying what they had learnt, the student groups were able to conduct simultaneous interpretation proficiently for the seminar.
