President Xu Zhenhua Attends IAUP Triennial Conference in Japan
Recently, at the invitation of IAUP, President Xu Zhenhua and Professor Qin Mingwu, dean of the Department and Asian Languages and Cultures, attended the 17th IAUP Triennial Conference held at Yokohama College of Commerce. During the 5-day conference, President Xu listened to several academic reports given by presidents of well-known universities and participated in group discussions.
Meanwhile, President Xu and Professor Qin paid a visit to Yokohama College of Commerce and discussed the cooperation of “2.5+2”double degrees programs with the host. They also visited the 13 SCBC students studying there. Later, they went to Hollywood University and were welcome by the University’s president. The two sides signed a partnership agreement after an in-depth discussion on the “1+4”international articulation project as well as postgraduate studies program.
Zhou Yue Triumphs in Regional Collegiate German Speaking Contest
Zhou Yue from the Department of European Languages and Cultures claimed the champion in the Third Collegiate German Speaking Contest in South China held at Sun Yet-sen University on June 13. The best scoring winner was also rewarded a Summer Camp in Germany in 2015. Other SCBC contestants also performed outstandingly, with Chen Yazi winning a third prize, and Chen Ming a special award.
