SCBC Student Ranks 4th in Korean Speaking Contest
On May 24, Chen Jiaqing, a sophomore majoring in Korean Language from the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures, took part in the Korean Tourism Organization’s Korean Speaking Contest and tied for the fourth place with a contestant from Sun Yet-sen University. These equal winners were awarded round-trip ticks from China to South Korea. Moreover, 40 students of Korean language and several teachers attended the occasion.
Representatives from University of Ulster in Britain Visit SCBC
Ms. Sarah Caine, a regional manager from the University of Ulster in Britain, led a delegation to visit SCBC on May 26 and was welcome by Mr. Yang Jianjun, director of SCBC’s International Cooperation and Exchange Division. The two sides had a discussion on the “2+2” programs.
Foreign Faces on SCBC’s 4th Dragon Boat Race
The 4th Dragon Boat Race of SCBC was held on May 28 and 29 on the Campus Lake. This year’s race had attracted the participation of international students from South Korea and Mexico as well as foreign teachers from Spain. They joined their Chinese peers and colleagues in the respective teams to vie for the first place. Mr. Kim, a student from South Korean who took part in such races for the first time, expressed his excitement of rowing the boat with Chinese classmates. Adrian from Celaya University in Mexico said he really enjoyed the races.
