Spanish Students' First On-site Interpreting Lesson

 

     Recently, Grade 2010 students of Spanish language had their first on-site interpreting lesson in this semester at the new Guangdong Museum. They took turns to work as interpreters for two Spanish teachers, Andrea and Antonio. In the exhibition halls, the students explained in Spanish the artifacts, photographs, paintings, sculptures, models, etc. to help the teachers understand the history and culture of China dating from the Mapa Man in Guangdong Province to the founding of new China (P.R.C.).  

 

 


English-Only Talk: Love Sports, Love Life

 

     On November 27, the English-only Talk series invited foreign teacher Diab to give a lecture entitled “Love Sports, Love Life” in Room C302. Diab started his speech with an introduction to Olympic rings logo, mascots and host city, and then explained the importance of sports in world culture. Moreover, he demonstrated several sports events to the audiences and recommended a few sporting activities for everyday exercise. 
 

 

 

Dr. Abel Polese from Tallinn University in Estonia Visits SCBC

 

     On the morning of November 30, Dr. Abel Polese from Tallinn University in Estonia paid a visit to SCBC on behalf of the EU Framework Programme. The EU Framework Programme, according to Dr. Polese, has been implemented over many years. His trip to China will be very helpful in the design of rational and effective projects in the future. He also expressed his willingness to strengthen the ties with SCBC and facilitate more academic exchanges for the college.

 

 


Management Department's 6th Specialty English Speech Contest

 

     On December 4, the Department of International Business Management held the final of the 6th Specialty English Speech Contest with foreign teacher Ben on the judge panel. On the stage, the ten finalists had shown their enthusiasm and devotion to English learning with beautiful pronunciation, fluent expression and confident smiles. Finally, Wu Beibei from Class 2, Grade 2012 of Finance major (taught in English) won the champion of the contest.
