Representatives from Maryland University Talk about US General Election
 
On October 22, Dr. Thomas Schaller, a professor from Maryland University in America, led a delegation to visit SCBC. He delivered a speech entitled “American Politics at Crossroads” in Room B404, commenting on the development of America and the future of Sino-US relations, and also shared his opinions with the students at the speech.
 
 
 
President of Bellevue University in America Converses with Students of SCBC
 
On October 23, Dr. Mary Hawkins, president of Bellevue University, led a delegation to visit SCBC. After an in-depth discussion of enhancing mutual cooperation with Dr Liu Jianda, president of SCBC, Dr. Hawkins had conversations with some of the candidates for the short-term exchange programs in Bellevue University. At present, the fifth selection for exchange students is in progress and the qualified candidates will start their one-semester exchange study in Bellevue University in March 2013. Up till now 19 students from the previous four selections have participated in the exchange project with Bellevue University since it was initiated in 2010.
 
 
 
Professor from University of the West of England Visits SCBC
 
On October 24, Alex Green, chief of the Office of Asian and Pacific Affairs of University of the West of England(UWE) in Britain, visited SCBC and discussed the short-term teaching exchange projects with Lai Zhili, vice- president of SCBC. By the end of November, the UWE will delegate Prof. Peter Nicholls to SCBC for a 10-day teaching exchange, and the professor will teach “A General Survey of Organizational Analysis” and “Debate on ‘How to Succeed’” to Grade 2011 International Innovation Class and give open lessons and lectures for teachers and students in SCBC. This is the first time that SCBC invites a visiting professor from an overseas higher learning institution for a short-term exchange.
 
 
 
Representatives from Soon Chun Hyang University in South Korea Visits SCBC
 
On October 25, Mr. Oh Yunseong, director of the Department International Education and Exchange of Soon Chun Hyang University in South Korea, visited SCBC. In the meeting, the two parties exchanged ideas on several international exchange projects, including “2+2” study program in South Korea, sending exchange students reciprocally, etc..
 
 
 
Representatives from NHL University in Holland Visits SCBC
 
On October 25, Egon van der Veer, dean of Business School and J. M. J. van Benthem, director of the Department of International Education of NHL University in Holland led a delegation to visit SCBC. In the meeting, the two sides discussed such international exchange issues as teaching staff & students communication projects and students exchange programs.
