The Second Dragon-boat Race is in Sight, and the Racers are Busy Training

     To salute the advent of Dragon Boat Festival and intensify the sense of teamwork of school staff and students, the Second Dragon-boat Race will be held in the lake beside the BusinessPlaza from June 18th to 20th.

 

    

     With the first participation of school staff, this race is divided into staff groups, 9 teams, and student groups, 17 teams of respective male and female, to compete in 100-meter straight racing. As the race approaches, all teams are busy preparing actively in their spare time.

 

 

English Mock Career PK Competition of DELC

     On the evening of June 12th, the second English Mock Career PK Competition Final was held in F102. Based on Dragon Boat Festival, the competitors of mock companies promoted their products. Through two rounds of competition, the team “Mamma Mia”, acclaimed by the judges and audiences, won the championship.

 

 

 

Our Team Won the Second Prize of the 16th FLTRP National English Debating Competition at South China Division

     From June 7th to 10th, the final of the 16th FLTRP National English Debating Competition of South China Division was held at GuangzhouUniversity. On behalf of our school, Ying Wangour school, Wang Ying, a student of the Department of International Economy and Trade Grade 2011, and Pan Manlin, a student of Department of Finance, won the second prize.

 

 

The Department of International Economy and Trade Held the First International Business Negotiation Final

     On June 7th, the Department of International Economy and Trade held the first International Business Negotiation Final in F204. In English during the whole process, the students of International Trade Class 1 Grade 2009, on behalf of Procter &. Gamble, and those of International Commerce English-only Class Grade 2009, on behalf of Gillette, discussed on the merger cost and personnel integration in Procter &. Gamble’s merging Gillette. Following closely their respective goal of maximizing interest, both parties didn’t give in on merger cost, and finally they couldn’t reach an agreement.

 

 

The 4th English Talent Show Competition

     On the evening of June 6th, the 4th English Talent Show Competition Final, sponsored by Department of English Language and Culture, was held in G101. This competition was divided into two parts—English debating and the ways of the world. After watching a 4-min English video, the candidates were required not only to repeat the main idea and give remarks but also answer the questions posed by their opponents. The classroom was bursting with loud cheers for the flexibility of the candidates.
